Welcome to Dixie Chapter 16's internet home!

Chapter 16 Mission Statement:

Chapter 16 was chartered by the NAWCC May 18th, 1956 for the following major purposes:

  • To stimulate interest in timepieces of all kinds.
  • To foster interest in collecting, repairing, restoring and building timepieces.
  • To promote the study of horological history.
  • To cooperate with individuals and organizations in exhibiting timepieces.

Memberships and Meetings:

Chapter 16 meets at the Piccadilly Cafeteria (874 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN) at noon on the first Saturday of each month, with occasional exceptions. Membership is limited to NAWCC members; dues are $10.00 per year.

The Piccadilly Cafeteria is located at the balloon marked "A".

Chapter meetings are open to visitors who may not be members of the NAWCC. You must be an existing member of the NAWCC to become a member of a chapter. Meetings begin with an informal "mart" session, during which members display clocks, watches and related tools, books, etc., to sell and/or trade. This is followed by visiting and a luncheon, business meeting, and finally a program consisting of the following activities:

  • Workshops on clock or watch cleaning or repair
  • Exhibits of examples of a designated "clock of the month" accompanied by discussion of its characteristics and history
  • Video tapes provided by the NAWCC
  • Lecturers from other chapters
  • Silent Auctions

The Mid-South Regional Convention:

On Labor Day weekend of each year, Dixie Chapter 16 joins chapters from Knoxville, TN, Atlanta, GA, Birmingham and Huntsville, AL to co-sponsor the Mid-South Regional Convention in Chattanooga.

This regional attracts over 800 NAWCC members for exhibits, workshops and lectures, in addition to a mart with nearly 300 tables of clocks, watches and other horological items.

Chapter 16 will be hosting 2010's Mid-South Regional.

Chapter Officers:

  • Tim Orr, President
  • Carl Quakenbush, Vice President
  • Curtis Jackson, Treasurer
